The group originally got together in 2018 to explore the range of ‘isms’ in 20th-century European and North American art. Over the last few years we have taken a couple of detours - exploring the history and development of South African art, culminating with Apartheid Resistance Art, followed by a term on the Harlem Renaissance. In 2025 we went even further afield to Japan where we looked at Japanese indigenous art and in particular the influence of that work on Western art and vice versa during the period of our study.
